Fostering growth for the next generation of designers.
UX Design Instructor at General Assembly.
2019 — 2021.
As a design instructor at General Assembly, I taught 100+ students in intensive, career-focused programs. I created curriculum, led lectures, and worked hands-on with students to develop hard and soft skills to prepare them for a career in design.
This was the most impactful role of my career and one I cherish deeply. I love teaching and helping other designers grow, and this role developed me into the designer and leader I am today. It continues to influence my approach as a director, and I still offer mentorship opportunities to new designers, both at my job and through platforms such as ADPList.
In my time, I led 5 separate 12-week cohorts, including the first fully online course for the NYC campus.
Lectures covered topics all across design, including: user research, accessibility, visual design, and development.
I was fortunate enough to teach one in-person class before the pandemic. Future classes were taught on Zoom, introducing new challenges to creating a collaborative learning environment.
